- It prevents conflicts over exactly how many versions there have been and confusion with title volume numbers.
(i.e., Is this the 3rd or 4th version; does the TMK Legion count as a separate version?)
- It avoids multiple names of this version from coming into common usage.
(e.g., Is is the TMK Legion, the FYL Legion, the PostGap Legion?)
- It follows in the "DnA" style and provides a nomenclature for subsequent versions.
(Official nomenclature: creating author's last initial, "n", creating artist's last initial)
- It preempts the coining of any derogatory names for this version.
 (a la the "Archie" Legion)
- It's easy to say: the "wink" Legion.
(Not to be confused with the "Twink" Legion; that's a very special screenplay I'm working on!)
- Since I've trademarked* the name, I'll make millions!!
 (Bwahaha!!)
Lord Emperor QL has spoken!
*Editor's Note: "WnK Legion" is a trademark of TPCM and its subsidiaries. All royalties for use are payable to QL at TPCM.
One name I've read in a couple of places is the 'WKRP' Legion, where WKRP stands for 'Waid-Kitson Reboot Period'.
ReplyDeleteMatthew: I hadn't seen that one. Pretty clever & funny!! Shoulda TMed that one too!
